OPEC crude production rose above its target for the first time in five months as Iraq pumped the most in 35 years, according to the International Energy Agency . The 12 members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries produced 30.49 million barrels a day in February, up from 29.99 million in January, the Paris-based IEA said today in its monthly oil market report. That’s about 300,000 barrels a day higher than the average level required in the second half of the year, according to the agency. Iraqi crude output jumped by 530,000 barrels a day to 3.62 million, driven by upgraded infrastructure in the country’s southern oil-producing region and the reduction of bottlenecks at its Gulf export facilities.
