The NYMEX November natural gas futures contract fell 9.8 cents to a $4.023/MMBtu settlement on Wednesday as the market weighed the expectation of a large, triple-digit storage build and forecasts for mild weather for much of October. Platts’ analyst poll reveals most are expecting an injection of 103 to 107 Bcf in Thursday’s US Energy Information Administration storage report, covering the week ended September 26. An injection in that range would be well above the 85 Bcf five-year average, and would represent the first triple-digit build since mid-July, according to EIA data. The contract had spent much of the day moving sideways before dropping near the close.
