Crude-oil futures rose in Asian trade Wednesday but analysts expect prices to remain volatile and market sentiment is still largely bearish. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in January traded at $67.52 a barrel at 0505 GMT, up $0.64 in the Globex electronic session. January Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures exchange rose $0.49 to $71.03 a barrel. Oil prices had fallen overnight after reports of an agreement between Iraq and the Kurdish regional government raised concerns of new oil production flooding an already-oversupplied market. Nymex West Texas Intermediate crude has been down for five of the past six trading sessions, and has lost 37.65% of its value since June. Brent crude has lost around 38.69% of its value since June.
