North Dakota on Friday said crude-oil production rose slightly in November even as the state’s top energy official warned the output level is unsustainable at current prices. Oil production in November, the latest data available, edged up 0.4% to 1.17 million barrels a day from October, the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources said. Energy companies have been focusing on their most productive Bakken Shale wells, which has kept production above the million-barrel-per-day level. “In our view, the slight production increase is incrementally bearish, as it showcases operators’ ability to maintain production volumes with limited monthly completions” of wells, RBC Capital Markets said in research note. The state’s natural gas production in November rose 0.67% from the prior month to a record of 1.67 billion cubic feet a day.
