Iraq’s longtime head of oil sales, Falah Alamri, has been transitioned from director general of the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) to advisor to the Oil Ministry. Alaa al-Yassiri, acting director general of the economic and investment directorate at the ministry since February and a former deputy director general in charge of finance at SOMO, has been named as acting chief of SOMO, according to two ministerial orders issued Sunday by Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luiebi.
