China’s natural gas imports, comprising LNG and pipeline gas, rose 26.8% year on year to 9.81 million mt — the equivalent of 13.53 Bcm — in January, preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs showed Thursday. Now January gas imports were also up by 6.2% from 9.23 million mt, or 12.73 Bcm, in December, according to the customs data.
