Iraq’s cabinet approved a plan to build a pipeline to send the output of oil fields in Rumaila to Aqaba in Jordan, according to a Wednesday statement from the country’s oil ministry. The pipeline will have a capacity of 1 million b/d. The project was approved by the Jordanian government in 2018, but details about the pipeline have been scarce. A source close to the Iraqi ministry told S&P Global Platts that finding financiers for the pipeline has been a struggle.
