Alaska accounted for all of the growth in U.S. oil production from the week ending May 29, data released from the Energy Department show. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said in its weekly petroleum status report total U.S. crude oil production for the week ending May 29 was 9.6 million barrels per day. Output from the Lower 48 states was unchanged from the previous week and production from Alaska increased by 4.1 percent to 507,000 bpd.
