Balmy temperatures this past weekend across much of the U.S. sent a chill down energy producers’ spines Monday. The shape of the jet stream that produced the anomaly may continue through much of December and that has led analysts to chop their estimates for how much natural gas will be used for heating. The result was an intraday price of around $1.87 for front-month natural-gas futures, down nearly 6% and the lowest in almost 14 years .
