“Total has bought Global Wind Power France, a company with a 1 GW portfolio of onshore wind projects, the French oil and gas company said Friday. This is Total’s second move in the renewables space in as many days, the company has taken a majority stake in the Erebus floating wind project in the Celtic Sea on Thursday. GWP France is to be incorporated in Total Quadran, Total’s renewable developer and producer in France. Total didn’t provide acquisition price of the deal. “Following Vents d’Oc’ acquisition in 2019, this new investment demonstrates Total’s commitment to expand in all types of renewable energy while contributing to France’s energy transition goals,” said Philippe Sauquet, President Gas, Renewables and Power at Total.
