“Would you close down the oil industry?” President Trump asked his opponent at the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, last Thursday. “I would transition the oil industry, yes,” Joe Biden said. “Basically what he is saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry,” Trump said . “Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that, Pennsylvania? Oklahoma? Ohio?” Biden tried to walk it back after the debate that night, even though his own climate plan shows that he’s serious about weaning the country off of polluting fuels.
