An opinion poll suggests widespread Israeli skepticism over the international community’s recent nuclear deal with Iran. A poll by the Israel Democracy Institute think tank and Tel Aviv University found 77 percent of Israelis don’t believe the deal will prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Iran agreed to freeze parts of its nuclear program in return for relief from Western sanctions while the sides try to negotiate a final settlement in the next six months. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sharply criticized the deal as not tough enough on Iran.
