Natural gas futures climbed to a roughly 2 1/2 year high Monday, before paring some of those gains as weather forecasts called for the return of frigid temperatures in key regions of the country, potentially bolstering near-term demand for the heating fuel. Natural gas for January delivery rose 7.6 cents, or 1.7%, to $4.492 a million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
