What a difference a week makes. After avoiding Gulf of Mexico ports because of Hurricane Hermine, crude oil tankers flooded the region, pushing oil imports to the highest week-on-week increase since December 19, 2014. Gulf shipments rose 38 percent to 3.41 million barrels a day last week, after slumping to 2.48 million barrels, the lowest on record, the week before.
