Italian energy company Eni said Tuesday it signed a series of agreements with a state-run company in Algeria that could lead to greater gas production. Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met with a team from Sonatrach, the state energy company in Algeria, to sign a series of agreements on gas production at the nation’s Berkine basin and on renewable energy development. “It will lead to the production of new gas reserves through the use and optimization of existing infrastructures,” a statement from Eni read.
