The U.S. saw a net decrease of one rig this week. The U.S. idled three oil rigs this week and added two gas rigs for a net loss of one rig, according to data from Baker Hughes Company. The nation’s active rig count now sits at 802, which is 274 fewer rigs than the count of 1,076 one year ago. Alaska and Louisiana were the only states to add rigs, with the addition of two and one, respectively. Each of the following states idled one rig this week: Colorado New Mexico Oklahoma Texas Wyoming Among the major basins, none added rigs this week.
