Quesqui field holds estimated 500 million barrel 3P reserve Crude production forecast to reach 110,000 b/d by 2021 Denver — Pemex’s largest hydrocarbon reserve discovery in 30 years is boosting the Mexican government’s confidence that the troubled state-run enterprise can reverse a more than decade-long decline in crude oil production. An analysis of initial production results and seismic data from the onshore Quesqui field led to a confirmation and announcement Friday of the discovery’s 500 million barrel 3P reserve potential. By next year, Pemex expects to drill 11 new wells with total field production of 69,000 b/d of crude and approximately 300 MMcf/d of natural gas, CEO Octavio Romero Oropeza said in a press release. Crude production is forecast to reach 110,000 b/d and natural gas production 410 MMcf/d by 2021, he added.
