Oil prices jumped by more than 3% on Wednesday after reports that scientists have found an effective drug against China’s fast-spreading coronavirus, which has hit the world’s second-largest economy in recent weeks. Brent crude oil futures LCOc1 were up $1.76, or 3.2%, at $55.72 a barrel by 0919 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 were up $1.34, or 2.6%, at $50.93.
