US coal carloads were at a near four-year low 58,659 in the week ended March 7, the lowest total since 58,166 in the week ended April 9, 2016, the Association of American Railroads said Wednesday.  The latest week was down 5.6% from a week earlier and 23.4% lower than the year-ago week. It was also the lowest corresponding week in over 10 years. Coal carloads represented 12.7% of all the traffic on US railways, down from 13% a week earlier and 15% in the year-ago week.
