There’s new evidence from Los Angeles County that the novel coronavirus may have infected around 4 percent of its population. That’s both good news and bad news. Officials in the nation’s most populous county announced results yesterday from an antibody testing effort, in which a randomized sample of residents were given blood serology tests to determine whether their bodies had already fought off the virus — and could now have some immunity to it.
