SAE International’s Wireless Power Transfer and Alignment Task Force, SAE J2954, is urging the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to act to support the commercialization of wireless charging operating in the frequency band of 79 kHz to 90 kHz as well as type approval based on SAE J2954 standards as well as ANSI C63.3. The SAE task force consists of more than 150 international experts representing automakers, suppliers, users, national laboratories, and government agencies. In a letter sent on behalf of the taskforce to FCC Secretary Marlene Dortch, Jesse Schneider, CEO/CTO ZEV-Station, LLC and Chair, SAE Wireless Power Transfer & Alignment, urges the Commission to adopt a radiated emission limit of 82.8 dBμA/m under Part 18 from 79 kHz to 90 kHz when utilizing a measurement distance of 10 meters.
