Energy trader Jera Global Markets chartered the vessel Yiannis to load the inaugural shipment at Venture Global LNG Inc. ’s Calcasieu Pass facility in Louisiana, the companies said in a statement Tuesday. The Yiannis was the first ship to arrive at Calcasieu after the facility began producing LNG in January. The cargo marks the start of fresh LNG projects in the U.S. that are set on serving growing demand for the fuel, which pushed global prices to record highs last year.
