Several major German industrial consumers are ready to participate in the government’s auction that will help to ensure the security of supply this winter, according to a minister. “Several” energy-intensive users are prepared to cut consumption and instead the volumes will be put in storage, Deputy Economy Minister Oliver Krischer said in an interview in Essen, Germany. He declined to be specific about which companies had come forward. Germany is quickly trying to conserve gas to fill its storage ahead of the winter following a shortage of flows from Russia’s Gazprom PJSC.
